Warriors’ annual Charity Golf Day returns in April

The Vale Golf & Country Club in Evesham will host Warriors’ annual Charity Golf Day on Wednesday 18 April in aid of Acorns Children’s Hospice.

The Vale’s International par-74 course offers the perfect balance between a golfing challenge and the natural aesthetics of the superb Midlands location, and you can play alongside a Warriors player or coach at our annual event this April.

Entering a team costs £350 +VAT with one of two options available. Teams can submit either a four-ball, or a team of three along with a Warriors player or coach to complete your team.

The price also includes tea, coffee, a bacon roll, refreshments on the course, a goodie bag, a two-course meal and competitions on the day.

Nicol & Co Estate Agents were last year’s winners of the event, with the assistance of Warriors’ Marco Mama, as they won the stableford competition – which will again be the scoring system used in this year’s event.

Registration for the event is at 10.30am for a 12pm shotgun start.

Spend an evening in the presence of a rugby legend at Sixways

Warriors will be hosting a Donncha O’Callaghan Sporting Dinner at Sixways on Thursday 3 May, sponsored by official IT Partner EBC Group.

O’Callaghan, who won 94 caps for Ireland and made four appearances for the British & Irish Lions, will reflect on his career in rugby and give guests a fly-on-the-wall insight into his life in the limelight.

The giant forward, who turns 39 on Saturday, will discuss the drive which catapulted him to become one of most well-respected players in the game and will also talk about how he has found life at Sixways over the last three seasons.

As one of Ireland’s highest capped players, O’Callaghan appeared in three Rugby World Cups and also went on two tours with the Lions.

He has gone on to make 62 appearances for Warriors and was named Club captain at the start of this season.

The lounge suit Dinner starts at 7.30pm and will be hosted by Dave Bradley. It includes a raffle and auction to raise money for UNICEF – a charity for which O’Callaghan acts as a Goodwill Ambassador.

Gold and Silver tickets are priced at £50 and £45 respectively and include a two-course meal and coffee.

Platinum tickets are priced at £75 and, as well as the two-course meal, include a champagne reception and cheese.

England Under 20s will play their South Africa counterparts at Sixways Stadium on Friday 11 May (kick-off 7.30pm) ahead of the World Rugby Under 20 Championship in France.

The match against the Junior Springboks, which will be streamed live on, takes place at the home of Warriors and will be crucial preparation for England ahead of the tournament in France between May 30 and June 17.

Playing their fixtures at Stade de la Méditerranée in Béziers, 2016 winners England will face Argentina, Italy and Scotland in Pool B of the World Rugby Under 20 Championship this summer.

England Under 20s have faced the Junior Springboks in successive semi-finals in the tournament, defeating them 39-17 in 2016 and 24-22 in 2017.
