Visitors to Worcester Warriors’ ground on Saturday 9 July will be finding more than ‘Sixways’ to exercise and be creative at a unique event to inspire people with Parkinson’s in the UK to ‘Find Your Way To Play’.
The Try-Athlon, organised by Sport Parkinson’s, will feature a wide range of activities designed to exercise both the body and brain.
There will be walking sports on the main Sixways Stadium outdoor pitch., including hockey, football, netball, cricket and rugby, provided by the Worcester Warriors Community Foundation Team & Bromsgrove Walking Sports Centre.
Try your hand at table tennis, circuits and golf on the indoor pitch or enjoy the live music performances, dancing, aerobic workouts and shadowboxing – all with seated alternatives available.
There will also be painting, drawing and poetry in the Creative Zone, and an area to retreat for moments of calm, yoga and Pilates in the Zen Zone.
The Sport Parkinson’s contributors will be on hand to offer expert advice in the Expert Zone, including Parkinson’s nurses and neuro-physios.
This is the only event of this nature for the Parkinson’s community and should not be missed. Make sure to bring along your friends and family to enjoy the day with you.
