It’s Earth Day 2022 and we are reflecting on all things environmental at Sixways Stadium.
Sustainability is intrinsic to Sixways as a business, found at the heart of every department.
Here are some of the ways, we at Sixways are helping to #InvestInOurPlanet:
🌎 Be a carbon neutral venue by 30 April 2022.
🌎 50% reduction of emissions by 2030.
🌎 Net zero emissions target by 2040.
🌎 Worcester Warriors have achieved carbon neutrality under the guidelines of PAS 2060:2014, which demonstrates the achievement of attaining carbon neutrality in scope 1 and 2 plus selected scope 3 emissions (certified by Go Green Experts Ltd).
Go Green experts have measured our carbon emissions and as such we have put our Sixways Six Pillars of Sustainability in place to achieve our United Nations commitment. There are various projects that we have already put in place in order to achieve this, such as:
🌎 The installation of energy-efficient LED floodlights around the stadium to improve environmental performance.
🌎 Rolling out motion-censored LED lighting throughout office and venue spaces.
🌎 Positioned non-concussive taps throughout the site to reduce water waste and expenses attached to water usage.
🌎 Establishing a reduction of paper waste by having card-operated printing and using DocuSign for administrative purposes.
🌎 Commitment to buy locally sourced food, where possible.
🌎 Worcester Warriors have also signed up to the government cycle to work scheme which gives employees the opportunity to purchase a bike and cycling equipment through a tax-efficient salary sacrifice scheme.
🌎 Adding to the Cycle to work scheme, Warriors also have a staff salary sacrifice program in order to incentivise electric car ownership, which not only benefits lower running costs for employees but also aids a cleaner environment.
🌎 Adding to this, within our conferencing department, we now supply bamboo pens for all our visiting conference delegates.
